We signed the contract last night for our first home. We will officially be home owners in about 30 days. We are so relieved, we have been looking since early January and have seen about 30 houses! We just know this is the one the Lord had for us the whole time. It’s brand new so we can just move right in. It has everything we need- 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath and a 2 1/2 car garage. We are so thankful. I will post better pictures when we have them. It is close to both of my parent’s houses and church, which we love. We are so excited! We have been so encouraged by friends and family, who have helped and PRAYED for us to get us to this point in the process.

Happy Valentine’s Day (2 weeks late)

Will and I continued with our tradition of making cards for each other, my homemade Hersey kiss was filled with Dove dark chocolate since I am not crazy about Hersey’s. We went on a date to Babies R Us, J. Alexanders and to see the movie “Valentine’s Day”. It was a simple night, but nothing beats time together without any distractions!

Pregnancy @ 28 1/2 weeks

It has been so long… so much to catch up on.

I am in the third trimester of the pregnancy and feeling great, there seem to be so many different “symptoms or side-effects” to pregnancy.

Like-

Phases of extreme tiredness and then lots of energy

Extreme mood swings- like crying/sobbing for no reason at all

Being convinced I smell cigarette smoke, when the nearest cigarette is a mile away

Back pain

Not to mention this growing belly- which some might think of a burden to gain weight, but I look down and just see my precious baby boy, it doesn’t bother me a bit… I still have 11 1/2 weeks to go, so we will see what I say at the very end :)

Will and I have decided to call baby Laing, Liam, short for Wil”LIAM” Steven Laing V.

We also received so many adorable clothes, blankets, etc for Liam from Will’s parents. They are too good to us!

And the sweetest book from our good friends Tyler, Haley and Griffin.

Brooke is hosting a shower for me and baby Liam April 10th so we are so excited about that and Ashley is hosting one for us April 25th. I can’t wait to show the baby off soon after that to everyone that loves and cares for us!

We registered at Babies R Us and Thelandofnod.com

Will and I had a 20% off coupon to Babies R Us so we went and got our Chicco Travel System in Discovery (light green and gray)- we love it, I want to go on a walk and push it just because we have it, but know that would be crazy! ha!

Liam is now about 2 1/2 pounds and 15 inches long, he moves all the time and it is so neat to feel and even SEE him move around in there. We love him more than we could have imagined, it is amazing how much closer it has brought us to the Lord and each other. Every so often in our dating/engaged/ married relationship we would think and say, surely we can’t get any closer or happier than this and sure enough the Lord blesses our relationship and we feel closer and fall more deeply in love with each other.

I promise I’ll post a picture soon, I haven’t taken one since 24 weeks so I really need to!

That’s right, it’s a boy! I don’t really know who I am saying this to, because the day we found out we called and texted all our family and close friends and I posted it on facebook :) But we left the next day for vacation, so  it just occurred to me I had not “officially posted it on the blog.” HA!

Will and I are so happy it’s a little boy. Almost everyone said they thought it was a girl, but Will held strong with his thoughts of it being a boy and he was correct. We love William Steven Laing V so dearly already, we talk to him and pray for him and imagine what he look like and what kind of personality he will have. We are overjoyed.

Vacation was amazing too. I’ll post more details of that later.

For now, we are excited to welcome our little guy in about 18 weeks.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, December 29th) @ 10:20 Will and I get to go to the doctor and see our sweet pea for the first time ever- on the screen that is :) And Lord- willing find out if it is a boy or girl. We don’t have a preference or a intuition about what gender it is, but are certainly anxious to find out!!! I am twenty-weeks, which means I am half-way there.

Do you think it is a boy or a girl???

Everything is the Laing House is going great. Will and I are really just enjoying our time together and I am starting to enjoy pregnancy more. I still get sick some, but it is much less severe than before. I am now 14 weeks. We have another doctor’s apt. in two weeks. At our last apt. we heard the baby’s heartbeat and it was just so amazing.

We have been busy with school and work, my semester is officially over today, Will has a week break and then finals. We are anxious for May to get here for so many reason!

We have seen the Lord’s provision in so many ways it has been incredible, at first with the pregnancy. Then with a new car that will be larger and easier with the baby. Also, I really desired to have a “glider” from pottery barn, but felt it was too expensive and knew I probably would not get one. Last night my boss so generously offered me hers that she used with her children, and it is the exact same one I wanted. I started to cry, I was so touched by her and the Lord’s provision.

We bought a dresser that we will use as a changing table. I don’t know what I would do without Will, there are not too many men that could carry every piece of our furniture up two flights of stairs, but he did it!Here it is, I think it looks better in person, I think something is wrong with my flash.

Also Will told me last night we are going on a vacation! We have not been on one alone since our honeymoon and don’t know when the next opportunity will come up for just the two of us to go. So dah, da, dah….We are going to Puerto Rico December 30th through January 4th.

I have been meaning to post some picture of somethings I have done with my sewing machine

The two red and white damask pillows I made with some fabric I found on sale. Brooke helped me alot! Thanks Brooke!

I found this monkey fabric for 4 dollars on Saturday, it is a little funky, but in a small amount I think it’s really cute. I recovered these chair cushions and Will is working on sanding and staining the chairs for me to give them an updated look!

This curtain is an old project, but I thought I would add it on here, I made it a little while back

Once we find out the sex of the baby then I may make or purchase the baby’s bedding. We still have a few more weeks until we find out, boy or girl!!!

My Dad and Lindsey are getting married the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so we will have an extra busy holiday season this year, and are excited to see Ashley, Troy and Chase over November and December. We will miss Will’s family so much, but are thankful we have gotten to see then more than usual this summer and fall.

Quick Update

I know posts with no pictures are boring, however just wanted to get on here really quick with an update of what we have been up to!

*Ashley and Chase came for a week to visit, and he is so precious!!! It was a really sweet time with both of them

*Lea and Logan came the next weekend to see us and we also had such a great time! We ran around looking at baby stuff, went to Bernheim Forest with a Cheddar Box picnic, they got to see our apartment and church, and just relaxed, we miss them so much, being so far away! They are so sweet, blessing us in so many ways.

* My mom came over and cleaned all day today! I mean from top to bottom and stocked our refrigerator with lots of Whole Foods goodies. And got me fall mumms and pumpkins. She is the best mom I could ever ask for

* I have not been feeling well at all with the pregnancy, like to the point that it’s unbearable, and I haven’t had the best attitude about it. Well yesterday I just felt so convicted for not being thankful for the sickness because of what it means! That the Lord has blessed Will and I with a child. So I am really going to try and have a better attitude about it!

* And I am nine weeks and my next doctor’s appointment is November 2 (when I am eleven weeks), we will be able to get to hear the heartbeat at this appointment, so we are excited about that. About 31 more weeks to go!!! Thanks everyone for all the prayers.

First Baby Blogpost

I’m sure this will be the first of many. Will and I found out I am pregnant with our first child September 12 and it was confirmed by the doctor today that everything looks great and I am a six and a half weeks. The Due date is May 20, 2010. It is all the Lord’s perfect timing, but May will be a very busy month, with both of our graduations, settling into a home and having a baby!!! But all very awesome things. I love my doctor, she is seriously amazing and I am so thankful for her. Will and I are beyond excited but mostly thankful and humbled that God will allow us to be parents. We are praying for you baby Laing, and would appreciate prayer from everyone.
