Okay I can not believe I am putting this out there for everyone to see, but I am DESPERATE for some motivation and accountability. So here it is: I weigh 151 pounds, yikes. My first goal is to get to 140 and then from there 130.  So many women have told me the baby weight would come off easily with feeding Liam, but that has just not been the case with me, which is okay, I am just ready to get this weight off! I eat pretty healthy and am active, but I am going to cut out sweets with the exception of one a week and walk and run 4 times a week and cut back on carbs and will eat more in the morning and afternoon and less in the evening.

Right after I had Liam I was really worried about the weight coming off, then I realized taking care of my family needed to be my first priority and now I know he is 3 months old and I am ready to be more disciplined and healthy.

So the point of putting this is on the blog is every Tuesday I am going to weigh and post it on here. Here we go…

I am excited!

Also I used to be able to run 10 miles, now I get winded at 1, so my goal there is to be able to run 5.

Alyssa i’m sitting here stuffing my face w/chex mix as i’m reading your sweet post! i think you look great now and were almost TOO thin before you got pregnant so don’t sweat it too much! if it makes you feel better, i was around 10 lbs over my normal weight when i got pregnant so that will be 10 lbs more i’ll have to lose in the end (in addition to the 30 something i’ve already gained!). just keep doing what you are doing, eat healthy, and exercise…it will take some time but i know you’ll reach your goals!

Thanks Jenna- you are sweet, I appreciate the encouragement. I know I’ll get there I just need to DO something to get there! I figure posting my weight every week might help me stay motivated, because I will NOT want to say well I gained weight! You should eat when you are hungry! I don’t regret what I did while I was pregnant, I gained around 25 pounds, but I still had 6 weeks to go! I think my body is just out of wack having him prematurely.

Go girl go! You got this! God will see you through. Praying that God will give you the grace to not be anxious about it all. LOve you! Wish I could meet Liam soon!

I’m so proud of you and I think you are beautiful! If you get discouraged about it just look at Liam that’s the best reason I know of to have a few extra pounds. You are so disciplined I know you will reach your goal!

alyssa, your numbers are nearly identical to mine after i had ryan. i got down to 120 lbs, but have since put 10 back on (:-( but, I drastically cut calories (try NO carbs, NO sweets) if you want something sweet, stick to fruit. Sugar makes your brain think you are hungry and will increase your appetite. Try a balanced diet of lean grilled meat, fish, vegetables (lots), fruit and water. Avoid all fast food, avoid carbs, for dairy: 1 % or skim, and yogurt. Keep up the exercise. If you can do this, it will jump start your body into losing weight. You can do it, you have youth by your side. :)

alyssa,
I had a hard time losing my weight after my girls too…breastfeeding did not do the trick! I think having two so close together before I lost my weight from Averi made it that much harder! I finally joined weight watchers and have lost nearly 50 lbs in about five months, I have thirty more to go before sofie turns one (three months!)… weight loss is hard Ive found that cutting out anything completely will just make you desperate for it and may result in you just going crazy on it and ruining your weeks effort in one night…try weight watchers ice cream or popcorn to fill that sweet or salty craving, weight watchers ice cream is DELICIOS! If you want I can help you calculate your daily points allowance if you think that would be helpful!Just facebook me! Good luck girl you can do it!
